Define the New York City work location
New York City includes Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Surrounding coverage can include Westchester, Long Island and northern New Jersey when an employer has a specific opening there. These are distinct work locations: a cross-borough or interstate assignment should list every facility rather than relying on the label New York metro. Ask candidates to evaluate the actual journey and shift times; do not promise a standard commute.
Define the region before defining the candidate
A regional leadership search should specify the number and location of practices, reporting relationships and required travel. Explain whether the leader has clinical governance responsibilities, commercial responsibilities or both. A regional title can cover very different jobs, so the search brief needs to make the actual remit clear.
Keep an New York City base separate from regional coverage
If the position may be based in New York City but covers practices elsewhere, communicate that distinction. Specify any relocation requirement and the frequency of in-person visits. This site focuses on employer inquiries connected to New York City and nearby communities; regional searches are discussed individually with Business Executive Group.
